Description

Southwestern Exposition and Fat Stock Show champions from the 1944 rodeo left to right, Louis Brooks, Andy Curtis, Whitie Stewart, Ken Roberts, and Bob Estes. The five cowboys will receive National Rodeo association awards for their performances in last year's rodeo. Mr. Brooks, of Sweetwater, Texas was all-around cowboy champion and bareback riding winner. He is wearing a dark cowboy hat, western shirt, bandanna, and jeans. Mr. Curtis of El Reno, Oklahoma won in steer wrestling. He is wearing a dark cowboy hat, western shirt, and trousers. Mr. Stewart of El Reno, Oklahoma, won in bronc riding. He is wearing a cowboy hat, western shirt, and striped trousers. Mr. Roberts of Strong City, Kansas is a bull rider. He is dressed in a cowboy hat, a striped shirt, and trousers. Mr. Estes of Baird, Texas, is a consolation prize winner for placing twenty-fifth in the scoring. He is wearing a cowboy hat, a western shirt, necktie, and trousers.
