Sergeant (Sgt.) Ralph Stafford, a paratrooper recovering from his second injury since the European invasion is pictured here. He is shown standing against a bare wall, facing front and smiling for the camera. He is dressed in uniform. He is a veteran of campaigns in France, Holland and Belgium, serving with the 506th Paratroop Infantry, 101st Airborne Division. He described D-Day was a successful operation. Sergeant (Sgt.) Stafford wears the presidential citation with cluster, the Purple Heart, and Combat Infantry Badge. He is a graduate of Paschal High School. He is the son of Mrs. A. W. Parks of Albuquerque, New Mexico, formerly of Fort Worth, Texas. He is visiting his grandmother, Mrs. A. J. Bell in Fort Worth, Texas. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, March 3, 1945.
