Description
At the Red Cross auction, Crowley, Texas, left to right, bidders, Les Armstrong, Glenn and Carl Hampton, presenting towel back to the donor, Bonnie Key. The linen towel sent from Aachen, Germany, by Staff Sergeant Cyrus (Dub) W. Key brought $200 when it was donated by his 10-year-old sister, Bonnie, at Crowley's Red Cross auction. Bonnie is shown receiving the keepsake back from the successful bidders. Staff Sergeant Key wears the Bronze Star and Purple heart. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, March 3, 1945.
