Description
Sergeant and Mrs. Garth L. Stegall are in Fort Worth, Texas visiting his parents. Sergeant Stegall is spending a twenty-seven-day leave with his family after twenty-months service in Africa, Italy, and southern France. Sergeant Stegall was wounded by shell fire on June 11, 1944 in Italy. He was awarded a Purple Heart for being wounded in action. He is dressed in his military uniform. Mrs. Stegall is the former Miss Lillian Cordeiro of South Dartmouth, Massachusetts. She is wearing a light-colored fur coat. The couple married a few weeks earlier on February 7, 1945. At the end of his leave, Sergeant Stegall will be reassigned to DeWitt General Hospital in California.
