Description
Pharmacist's Mate First Class F. Preston Athans returned to the East Coast after spending a 30-day leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Athans. He served on an Landing Ship, Tank (LST) in the Atlantic a year and assisted landing troops and evacuating wounded in Normandy on D-Day. He is in uniform and standing by a blank wall, smiling. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, February 22, 1945.
