A portrait of Corporal Marion Douglas Scott of the Marine Corps standing against a bare wall. Corporal Scott is smiling and is wearing his military uniform. He arrived January 6 on a 32-day furlough with his mother, Mrs. Bonnie Scott, after 28 months in the Pacific. He is a graduate of Paschal High School. He participated in the campaigns at Guadalcanal, Tarawa, Saipan and Tinian for which he wears four battle stars. He also wears ribbons for the Presidential Citation and a Purple Heart. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram, morning edition, January 20, 1945.
