Portrait photograph of Private J. O. Elliston Junior, 20, who has been missing in action in Belgium since December 17, 1944. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Elliston Senior. Private Elliston was with a field artillery battalion attached to the 1st Army. He went overseas September 15 and was stationed in England before going into action in Belgium. His last letter to his parents, dated December 14, stated that he had seen duty on the Western Front. Elliston was graduated from Paschal High School in 1941 and was a junior at Texas A & M when called to active duty on June 8, 1943. He enlisted in the Army reserves in December, 1943. He was inducted at Camp Wolters and took his basic training at Camp Maxey. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Pi fraternity. In this picture, he is wearing a collared shirt, necktie and coat.
