Description
Reverend "Doc" Waddell, of Columbus, Ohio, known as "Bishop of the Big Top," visited Fort Worth, Texas and preached to prisoners in the county jail. Reverend Waddell, 82, is a circus performer turned preacher. Born into a circus performing family, Waddel started under the big top as candy butcher when he was 9. He began preaching in 1923 and became a circus chaplain. He expects also to talk to Masonic and Eastern Star groups in Fort Worth. He is shown standing, wearing a suit. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, January 12, 1945.
