Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Thomas of Grandview Texas, recently celebrated their 71 years of marriage. They lived in Hillsboro from the time they were married in 1873 until fifteen years ago when they moved to Grandview, Texas. They have seven children, twenty-nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Thomas was the eldest daughter of John Porter, the first sheriff of Parker County. She was a young girl when her father assisted the Texas Rangers in rescuing Cynthia Ann Parker and her baby. Mr. E.W. Thomas is wearing a suit and sitting in a wheelchair. Mrs. Thomas is sitting in an armchair and holding a cane. She is wearing a dress and shawl.
