Description
District Attorney-elect Clyde Friday announced the appointment of Mrs. Eva Barnes to his staff. She will be the first woman to serve as a Tarrant County assistant district attorney. Mrs. Barnes was born in Birmingham, England. She moved to Fort Worth, Texas, in 1921 and attended public school. In 1932 she received her law degree and license to practice after attending Jefferson University. She was one of the youngest women ever admitted to the bar. She was previously associated with the law firm Martin, Moore, and Brewster. Mrs. Barnes will serve in domestic relations cases and in juvenile work as an assistant district attorney. She is sitting at her desk wearing a button-up blouse. Her desk is covered with papers, notes, a jar, law books, paperclips, a calendar, and desk pad. There is a typewriter and a telephone off to the side of the desk.
