Description
The Forest Park Zoo has received a herd of Brindle Gnus. These five gnus are part of the largest herd in the Southwest. They were purchased and donated to the Zoo by William H. Hames, veteran showman and operator of the rides concessions at Forest Park. The animals, also known as the African Wildebeest, have been at the zoo for two years on a lend-lease. The were due to leave before Mr. Hames purchased them. The gnus has heads like buffaloes, tails like horses and legs like antelope.
