Corporal (Corp.) James M. Simmons, husband of Mrs. Alma Baugh Simmons of San Antonio and son of James L. Simmons of Aransas Pass has been awarded the Silver Star for single handedly saving a road block attacked by 15 Germans. Portrait of Corporal Simmons wearing military uniform. He is an electrician and driver for the 5th Armored Division's engineer battalion. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram, December 4, 1944.
