    Description

Mrs. Sarah E. Fisher, executive secretary of the Council of Social Agencies shown at her desk. She is sitting at a desk with a pencil in her hand and paperwork in front of her. She is wearing a dark dress. She regards her new job in the growing city of Fort Worth as an extremely challenging one, and wants to provide suitable recreation and family counseling for those who need help as well as to assure them food, shelter and clothing. In her work with the Council of Social Agencies she succeeds Miss Margaret Yates, who resigned in April to accept a similar position in Dallas. Mrs. Fisher was born in Tennessee and received a B.S. degree from the George Peabody School for Teachers in Nashville, 1923, and a diploma from the New York School of Social Work in 1939. Her previous employment were at the Community Chest at Birmingham, and Westchester County City of Social Agencies in New York. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, November 16, 1944.
