Mr. and Mrs. Walter Evans, celebrating their golden wedding anniversary at their home. They are sitting next to each other on a couch. She is wearing a dark dress with a lace collar and corsage. He is wearing a suit and tie. They were married on November 12, 1894 in the chapel of the old Red Oak Academy at Burleson, Texas. She was formerly Miss Lena Gaston. They moved to Fort Worth after 12 years and had lived almost continuously at the present residence, 1100 Ash Cresent. Reverend James K. Thompson read their golden wedding ceremony before friends and family. Among those present were Miss Gladys Evans, daughter; and Mr. and Mrs. Enoch Evans, brother of Walter. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, November 15, 1944.
