Clipping: "As the people of Fort Worth rushed to the polls in record-breaking numbers Tuesday morning, these voters of Precinct 81 waited to cast their ballots at Alic E. Carlson Elementary School in a line typical of the city's voting places." "Star-Telegram Photo." Published Star-Telegram Eve. Nov. 7, 1944 Several men are dressed in suits and carrying their hats. Most of the women are wearing dresses and a coat. Two months after the end of WWII most of the women in the photo appear to be wearing silk or nylon stockings, something absent during most of the war years. Many of the people are wearing eyeglasses and holding hats or purses. A man near the front of the line is holding a lit cigar.
