    Left to right, Sam C. Skidmore, Radioman Second Class and Troy Skidmore, Pharmacist's Mate, First Class, sons of S. C. Skidmore, Presidio, Texas, and Dick Skidmore, Signalman First Class, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. O. Skidmore, El Paso, Texas, a cousin. They are all serving aboard heavy cruisers in the Pacific and met, by chance, at an island port. They are veterans of Pearl Harbor, the Coral Sea, Midway and Guadalcanal. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, November 4, 1944.
