Description

Four boys from the Lena Pope Home, who are now serving with the armed forces, are having a reunion in Fort Worth, Texas. They are left to right, Yeoman First Class Earl Fickle, Apprentice Seaman Carl Defibaugh, Apprentice Seaman Harold Phillips, and Private Walter Richey. The boys graduated from Arlington Heights High School, where they played on the football team. Fickle, twenty, returned from five months in the South Pacific with the Navy. Defibaugh, nineteen, served aboard the USS New York. He is now with the V-12 unit at Texas Christian University. Phillips, twenty-two, is a Merchant Marine station with a V-12 unit at Franklin Marshal College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Richey, nineteen, is a crew chief instructor on an A-26 with the Army Air Forces mobile training unit.
