Description
Marine Master Technical Sergeant Leonard A. Svec, served on Guadalcanal as a member of the first Marine air group to operate from Henderson Field, is now serving with a 4th Marine Aircraft Wing squadron based at a former Japanese outpost in the Marshall's. He is a gunner on a Corsair fighter- bomber, he also holds the Purple Heart for wounds received there. The picture is a copy of a portrait of Sgt. Leonard A. Svec., in which he can be seen wearing his uniform.
