Description
The $1,000 bill for Lieutenant General George S. Patton to wave when he enters Berlin, Germany, was raised in 12 days by readers of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. P. J. Prater (right), originator of the idea, presents a check to Clarence Burke (left), vice president of the Continental National Bank. Watching is J. C. Griffith (standing), one of the first to contribute to the fund. Mr. Prater is sitting at a desk, wearing a suit. Mr. Burke is sitting at his side, also dressed in a suit. Mr. Griffith is wearing a dark colored three-piece suit.
