Description
Retired Railway Mail Man Finds Recreation at Lodge. James P. Wray, retired Railway Mail Service mail man. Mr. Wray retired last month after 41 years of service. Born on a 320 acre farm in Ellis County, which he still owns, Wray attended high school in Waxahachie and the old Texas College, later consolidated with Trinity University. His wife, whom he married in 1908, died 20 years ago. Wray's greatest pride and chief interest are his three sons, all in the armed forces. His youngest boy, 1st Lt. Harry J. Wray, pilot with the 10th AAF, was reported missing in action on March 27 over India. His father has never given up hope for his safety. The other sons are Chief Petty Office W.J. Wray, serving with the Navy in the Pacific area, and Sgt. Roberet Wray, overseas in the infantry. His goal now is to get his sons together once more and help set them up in business. Mr. Wray is sitting at a table playing dominoes. He is shown wearing a suit, shirt, striped tie, tie bar and eyelgasses. Published Fort Worth Star-Telegram Morning Edition October 1, 1944.
