Description
Miss Alden Hopkins, 22, who is a transfer from the Baltimore office, is the first woman field examiner to be attached to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and also one of the youngest field examiners in the United States. Miss Hopkins graduated from the University of North Carolina where she majored in psychology and economics and also attended Gaucher College in Baltimore. She has been employed at the Edgewood Arsenal, Md., and as a labor scout for an explosive plant. As a field examiner she will help investigate unfair labor practices and investigate representation questions within plants. In this picture, she is wearing a black dress and hat on and a huge smile on her face. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram, morning edition, September 26, 1944.
