Description
W. Morris Munden, Boatswain's Mate First Class, United States Navy, returns to West Coast for reassignment after visiting his wife. He holds stars for four Pacific battles and was gun captain of an anti-aircraft battery credited with destroying three enemy planes during the air battle of the eastern Solomon Islands. Munden has been in service five years. He attended North Side Junior High School and worked for Western Union before joining the Navy. This is a half-length portrait of him wearing his military uniform. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram, morning edition, September 24, 1944.
