Description
Staff Sergeant Tom Milburn, tail gunner on a Flying Fortress based in Italy that flew in the first shuttle mission from that country to Russia. He returned home to visit his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Milburn of 2811 Rosen Avenue. He has two brothers in the service: Lieutenant (Lt.) Robert T. Milburn and Private First Class (pfc.) R. L. Milburn. Sergeant Milburn is wearing his military uniform that has the Air Medal four oak leaf clusters, ribbon bar and rank stripes on sleeves. He is in a military stance. He also, holds the presidential unit citation for participation in an air battle over Memmingen, Germany. He is a 1941 graduate of North Side High School and before entering service in January, 1943, he attended Texas Christian University (TCU).
