Sergeant (Sgt.) Alava D. Troxell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mitch Troxell of Shamrock, Texas, has been awarded the Bronze Star Medal for action with the 88th Division in Italy. A portrait of him showing young sergeant in military uniform, and is smiling for the camera. He has a twin brother, Alton. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, September 30, 1944.
