Description

H. E. Lavender,65, a bachelor and life long resident of the Spring-town community, is a farmer first; he raises apples as a hobby. if he ever goes into apple raising as a serious business he'll really show the world something. He sent the Star- Telegram one of the apples that he raised as a hobby and it measured 13 inches in circumference and 4 1/2 inches in diameter. Its weight was just over 14 ounces. Shown here is the apple grown by H. E. Lavender next to an average size apple.
