Description

The winning run in the game for the city high baseball championship was scored on this play Friday. While Tommy Ingram, Paschal catcher looked to see what became of Sam Weatherford's high throw after it tipped his glove, R. H. Manning of Arlington Heights slid into the plate, making the score 3-2. The third inning action occurred after Paul Vinsant hit to the shortstop. The Jackets went on to win, 5-2. Published on May 25, 1940.
