Description
John H. Roland, 20, signalman first class of the Coast Guard, is in Fort Worth, Texas visiting his mother, Mrs. Ray Werner. Signalman Roland wears three stars on his campaign ribbons for the battles of New Guinea, New Britain, and Dutch New Guinea. He entered service in September, 1942. He attended school in Miller, Missouri. In this picture, he is shown standing, smiling. wearing his military uniform. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, August 21, 1944.
