Mrs. Howard Hudgins of Vernon, Texas, second from left, was elected department president of the Texas American Legion Auxiliary for 1944-1945 at the closing sessions of the three-day convention at the Blackstone Hotel. Mrs. Hudgins is wearing a blouse, blazer, skirt and a hat and is holding a bouquet. To the left is an unnamed woman wearing a sash that reads "PRESIDENT'S PAGE." At right are two other unnamed women. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, August 18, 1944.
