Description

R. T. Nail, Fort Worth, Texas resident, received a newly manufactured tire made entirely of natural rubber from his son Terry Nail, petty officer of the United States Navy. Terry sent his father the tire while abroad. Mr. Nail could only retrieve the tire after the local ration board issued him a rationing certificate. Mr. Nail is standing, holding his tire above a chair. It is a 6.00 x 16 ire, bearing the English name "Bridge Stone", but marked "Made in Japan." Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, August 12 1944.
