    Description

    Seabees Storekeeper First Class Woodrow W. Wooten, is home in Fort Worth, visiting his wife. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Wooten of Gainesville, entered service in October 1942. He participated in the invasions of Sicily, Salerno and Normandy with the famed "Ten-O-Six" detachment of fighting Seabess. He holds personal as well as unit commendations from Vice Admiral Hewitt, commander of Mediterranean operations, for action at Sicily and Salerno which states the outstanding initiative, zeal and resourcefulness displayed in operating pontoon causeway while subjected to severe enemy artillery and aerial opposition. He wears his uniform in the half length portrait. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
