Description

Texas Amateur Athletic Federation (TAAF) boxing tournament. The injury that kept Corporal R. A. Elders of the Marines out of the TAAF tournament was not inflicted by a glove. It came in close fighting in the lightweight final of the district tournament last week when Elders' opponent raised his head quickly and accidentally struck the corporal over the left eye causing an ugly gash. Elders won both his fights here by finishing strong in the final rounds. Elders is shown dressed in his military uniform holding a trophy.
