Description
John Andrus, seventeen, was given a brief instrument panel explanation by Lieutenant Verna Burns of the Fort Worth Civil Patrol Group 11 before being taken a flight. He is the son of Colonel and Mrs. B. C. Andrus. His father is in England and his brother Maj. B. C. Andrus Jr., is a B-24 squadron commander in Italy. Lt. Burns, in military uniform, sits in the cockpit while John, stooping under the the wing, looks into the cockpit. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, July 24, 1944.
