Description
Mike Hopkins Junior is a Pharmacist's Mate Third Class in the United States Navy. The 18-year-old sailor is home on survivor's leave visiting his mother, Mrs. Mark Hopkins Senior. Petty Officer Hopkins has been stationed in England for the past six months. He participated in D-Day during the invasion of Normandy. He was stationed on a Landing Ship Tank which sank during the invasion. Rather than saving clothes or equipment, Hopkins saved an antique silver celery jar he bought for his mother in England. He is shown sitting on a couch, posing with the souvenir. He is dressed in his military uniform. After his leave, Hopkins will report to Boston, Massachusetts, for reassignment.
