The Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service (W. A. V. E. S.) organization is celebrating their second anniversary Friday night. Gathering around a cake with two candles are, left to right, Miss Margoary Gambrell, Yeoman Second Class Camille Lockwood, and Miss Sarah East. Miss Gambrell is a recruit from Troup, Texas. She is wearing a button-up blouse, striped skirt, and a pearl necklace. Yeoman Lockwood is attached to the Navy V-12 unit at Texas Christian University. She is dressed in her uniform. Miss East is a recruit from Fort Worth, Texas. She is wearing a button-up blouse and a skirt.
