DFC Is Awarded to Captain Trauth -- Captain Royce G. Trauth, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Trauth of San Antonio, has been awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC) for his work as air commander of his group during an attack on the synthetic oil plant at Brux in Czechoslovakia. He is pictured here. A young man in uniform is smiling for the camera. He served as assistant operations officer and pilot of a Flying Fortress in an 8th Air Force group. Overseas since January, Trauth also holds the Air Medal. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, July 25, 1944.
