Pictured here are Misses Margaret Welch, 13, right, and Kathryn Houseworth, 11. They are the winners in the cake baking contest at the eighth annual Camp Fire Girl cooking class conducted by Miss Lucie Lee Carley, home economist of the Lone Star Gas Company. Both girls are shown standing and holding there winning cakes in a kitchen with ovens and kitchen equipment in the background. Margaret was awarded a week's trip to El Tesoro for the first prize. Kathryn was honorable mention. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, July 9, 1944.
