Description
Mark Williams, assistant Post Office Inspector in Charge for the Fort Worth Division, which covers Texas and Louisiana. It is a newly created position made necessary by the expanding force of field inspectors. Williams has an exceptional 38 years in the postal service handling some of the most difficult cases of mail fraud and mail theft, with assignments all over the country. He is a native of Abilene and started his career as a clerk in the post office at San Angelo on June 1, 1906. Williams is shown sitting at his desk, wiping a pair of eyeglasses. He has a typewriter and a telephone about his desk. There is map of Louisiana on the wall and a jacket closet next to the desk.
