Star-Telegram Jr. Clipping: "Three Brides Stay on Job in Business Office. By Velma Marlin. The most surprised girl in town was Pat Mann Chambers who, when called to the classified department July 7, was confronted by a stack of bridal gifts that high, and practically all the girls in the building waiting to watch her open her packages.... Lucille Whitmore, one of our newest brides, too her first solo flight into the realm of baking. The result was a tasty lemon pie. Husband Don liked it, and is clamoring for more... The Seabees come directly to the business office to gather their honey. This was proven when Seabee Verne Lloyd dashed across half the continent to rush our Christine Williams to the altar. July 5 was the important date." [unrelated copy redacted] Published Star-Telegram Junior, Aug. 10, 1944. Left to right: Mrs. Christine Lloyd and Mrs. Lucille Whitmore.
