Description

Ensign Russell Lee Vinson is recently graduated from Midshipman's School in Plattsburg, New York. He is pictured here. He is shown standing against a bare wall, facing front and smiling, dressed in his military uniform. He is spending his leave at home with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Vinson in Lake Worth, Texas. Ensign Vinson, a graduate of Arlington Heights High School, attended Texas Christian University (TCU) before he enlisted in the Navy V-12 program last July. He received training at the same University before reporting to the midshipmen's school. He was a Star-Telegram carrier salesman for four years. Ensign Vinson will report for assignment after his five day leave. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, July 3, 1944.
