    Description

    First Lieutenant George Tant Smith, Liberator bomber pilot. First Lt. Smith shown wearing a military uniform and holding his hands front of him. First Lt. Smith has a bandage on his right arm. His plane, the Rackenjammer, was shot by a German plane on the way back from a bombing raid. It blew out the plane's windshield, broke his right arm and his co-pilot’s left arm. They were able to fly the plane for the 5 hour trip back to base.
