Description
Blood Donor Center. Private Elbert L. Estes, San Antonio, Texas paratrooper and wearer of Purple Heart, paused to look at a poster at the Blood Donor Center. The poster reads "Don't Turn Away...It's Blood" with additional smaller text and an image. Private Estes is dressed in military uniform and came to donate a pint of blood in repayment for the blood plasma that saved his life when he was wounded at Buna, Papua New Guinea.
