Description
Colonel Leroy A. Rainey, assigned to United States Army Air Forces (AAF) Training Command staff. The Legion of Merit was added Monday to the impressive array of medals already held by Col. Rainey for his leadership of bombing forays against the Nazis during the critical days of the North African campaign. Col. Rainey also wears the Defense Medal, Air Medal with nine oak leaf clusters, Purple Heart, Soldier's Medal, Distinguished Flying Cross, and the Silver Star. Col. Rainey is wearing his military uniform standing in front of a wall.
