    Description

After nearly three years as crew member of a C-47 plane based in Cuba Private Ross Stewart is spending a month's furlough here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Stewart. He has been recommended for the soldier's medal. Stewart's plane, carrying four crew members and seven passengers, crashed in the middle of Hanover, Jamaica's biggest swamp, two years ago. Because he walked eight hours after the crash with three other men to find help, Stewart was cited. He had suffered a major should injury which kept him in the hospital for 37 days. Private Stewart is wearing his military uniform.
