Description
Staff Sergeant Grady Helm, of the United States Marines, spent a month's leave with his mother, Mrs. Grady Helm, and his grandmother, Mrs. Ellen Milburn, 2405 Lipscom, after having served two years in the Pacific theater. He sailed back under Golden Gate Bridge April 1. Helm served as communications man in two Marine air wings. He wears two presidential unit citations, the Asiatic-Pacific and American theater of war ribbons. In this picture, Helm is wearing his United States Marines uniform, with ribbon bar, two presidential unit citations and American theater of war ribbons. Behind him is a column and framed picture. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram, evening edition, May 9, 1944.
