Description
Staff Sergeant Joseph Livingston, in the 142nd Infantry of the 36th Division, visits his sister, Mrs. E. H. Baldridge in Fort Worth on his convalescent leave. He is the son of J. D. Livingston and brother to Sgt. D. H. Livingston, whom her served side by side in the 142nd Infantry, taken prisoner by the Germans on September 10, 1943. Sergeant Livingston is wearing his military uniform in this photograph. His campaign ribbon has two stars for the Salerno battle and the battle of Hill 424 in Italy. He is also a holder of the Purple Heart. Livingston was mobilized with the Texas National Guard before going overseas with the 36th Division. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, April 17, 1944.
