Emmons, right, was one of 48 American soldiers who were entertained March 23 by Lord Mayor of Nottingham, England, Frederick Mitchell, left, and Sheriff of Nottingham, England, Francis Carney, second from left. Standing second from right is an unidentified soldier. Sergeant Emmons and the other soldier are wearing their military uniforms and the Lord Mayor and Sheriff are wearing traditional dress and ornaments.
