Description
Mrs. Alma Herndon, assistant area War Manpower director, seeking persons for jobs. Mrs. Herndon is sitting at her office desk that has a telephone, note card holder, pen with holder and desk calendar. Her left arm is resting on the table while the other is holding a pencil over a typed paper. She is wearing a wedding ring, dress suit with rose pinned on her pocket under her lapel. Behind her, to her left, is a coat rack holding a coat and an American Airlines calendar. Behind her is another desk with glass on top and single locked drawer, a glass vase, with roses, is on the top. A native of Boyd, Wise County, Mrs. Herndon grew up and attended school in Greenville and also attended Texas Christian University (TCU). She has a son, Tommy, her husband, Henry T. Herndon and her mother, Mrs. Mary D. Portwood living at 4005 Belford. Since the war began, she has been an active member of the Child Welfare Council and the Fort Worth War Housing committee.
