    Sergeant (Sgt.) Shirey McCafferty, twenty-nine, wounded while serving with fifth Army field artillery. Sergeant McCafferty, the adopted son of his uncle, C. J. McCafferty, who makes his home with the soldier's parents, Mr. And Mrs. U. U. Humprey, 911 Galveston. Portrait of Sergeant McCafferty in uniform. He is recovering at a base hospital in Italy the War Department announced Monday. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, April 11, 1944.
