Description
Portrait of Captain Jack Pryor was killed March 22 in the Indo-China theater of war. He was promoted only a few weeks before his death, left Sept. 1 for overseas duty and had been serving as a pilot under General Chennault. He is a husband of the former Miss Josephine Walker. His wife said the captain's last letter, written on March 19, told of his being lost for a week and of having to discard his identification during his walk back to the Allied lines. He also mentioned that he had accumulated more than 100 hours of combat flying and soon would be leaving on his eighteenth combat mission. Captain Pryor, a son of W. C. Pryor, and of Mrs. E. S. Holcomb. He attended American University in Washington, D.C. and was graduated from the United States Military Academy in May 1942. He formerly was stationed at Fort Worth Army Air Field.
