Description
Statuesque Stuttering Sam Dowell (Mary Louise Dowell) having her dress fitted by Mrs. Bertha Cromer. Sam is in a long, chartruese dinner gown with narrow, long silk-like fabric draped from the back of the shoulder and looped to the front of the waist line. Mrs. Cromer is holding the fabric up and pinning it to the waist line. Cromer has on a dress, fitted at the waist, with pleats that are edged with lace approximately every twelve inches. The dress has long sleeves made out of chiffon. She is wearing a two-strand necklace, with a crown-shaped brooch at the v-line of the dress.They are in a room with fireplace, club chair with fringe at the bottom, wooden floors and a glass door cabinet with glass doors,has figurines and books on the shelves. Above the cabinet, are two framed photographs of a man and a woman. A sheer curtain covers the window. Published Fort Worth Star-Telegram Evening Edition April 4, 1944.
